Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is the premier government agency established in 1995 to assess, collect, and account for all tax revenues within Kenya. Operating as the central pillar for national fiscal sustainability, the authority enforces compliance with domestic and international trade laws, manages customs and border control operations, and actively advises the government on revenue policy formulation. Through its fully integrated digital infrastructure, primarily the iTax platform and mobile services, KRA administers key revenue streams including income tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), and customs duties, while systematically simplifying taxpayer registration, filing, and payment processes across the country.
