A healthcare leader, entrepreneur, and system-builder with over three decades of experience advancing private-sector participation in strengthening health systems across Africa.
currently serves as Executive Chairman of Africa Health Business (AHB), a pan-African healthcare advisory, consulting, and investment firm working with governments, development partners, investors, and healthcare organisations to improve access, affordability, quality, and sustainability of care across the continent.
Alongside AHB, I am President of the Africa Healthcare Federation and Chairperson of the Kenya Health Professionals Oversight Authority, contributing to policy development, regulatory reform, and sector governance at both national and continental levels. I also serve on global advisory and governance platforms, including the MSD for Mothers , IFC Ethical Principles in Health Care Advisory Board, and represent Africa on international health forums.
My leadership journey includes chairing the Kenya Healthcare Federation and serving on the boards of organisations spanning healthcare delivery, diagnostics, technology, civil society, and regional business platforms. I remain actively engaged in business leadership networks, including YPO Gold, and academic and professional bodies.
I am the founder of Avenue Healthcare (1995), one of Kenya’s leading integrated private healthcare providers—an entrepreneurial journey that shaped my belief in scalable, well-governed, and patient-centred healthcare models.
In 2024, I was honoured with the Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) by the President of Kenya in recognition of my contribution to healthcare and national development.
My focus today is on building institutions, enabling partnerships, and shaping markets that deliver better health outcomes for Africa at scale.
