He was named Cheikh Anta Diop Award Winner at Deep Learning Indaba 2025 in Kigali for comprehensive engagement spanning mentorship, teaching and cutting-edge research in anomaly detection, robotics and medical AI. His vision emphasizes inclusivity, sustainability and contextual relevance through establishing local AI hubs and promoting open-source tools, strengthening responsible and equitable AI capacity at the University of Kinshasa and across Africa.
