David Vernon

Vernon directs the CSSR4Africa initiative that equips humanoid robots with AI models of African social and cultural interaction norms for natural engagement in university and public settings. In 2025 he authored a Science Robotics perspective on the upward trajectory of robotics across Africa and continued supervising active research demonstrations and publications into 2026 that advance adaptive, culturally appropriate autonomous systems.
